Jenna Troum joined 7 On Your Side in July 2013 as a reporter based in Greenville.
She primarily covers the news of the day in Greenville, Pickens and Laurens Counties.
Jenna’s six-month 7 On Your Side investigation into how the state was unknowingly licensing sex offenders to be chiropractors and residential plumbers led to the state agency changing its licensing practices, three state investigations, and push by a state Senator to change the law.
Before moving to the upstate, Jenna was a multimedia journalist at WKBT in La Crosse, Wisconsin. While in La Crosse, her reporting on the deadly trend of heroin flooding the community won an Associated Press Award for Hard News and Northwest Broadcast News Association Awards of Merit for Investigative Reporting and Hard News.
Her series “Fighting Through the Fear,” which brought people an inside look at a class that trains women how to fight off a sexual assault, won an Associated Press Award for Enterprise Reporting.
Jenna graduated summa cum laude from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, with a concentration in Political Science.
Jenna is originally from the magical land of Mickey Mouse and citrus known as Orlando.
In her spare time, she’s involved with Greenville’s thriving theater scene.
