Governor’s Carolighting 2013

Description: This annual lighting of the State’s official Christmas tree officially begins South Carolina’s yuletide season. The event is sponsored by the Breakfast Optimist Club of Columbia and features the USC Choruses & Band, Ft. Jackson Brass Band, the Southern Bronze Handbells, Columbia Children’s Choir, and the Governor’s seasonal message.
Greenville Poinsettia Christmas Parade
Time and Place: December 7, 2013 from 6-7:30 PM Greenville, SC
Description: The City of Greenville is getting ready for its traditional Poinsettia Christmas Parade. The parade has always been a town favorite in Greenville for more than 20 years and will continue to bring in a surge of holiday visitors once again Saturday, December, 7th.

The Carolina Carillon Holiday Parade
Time and Place: December 7, 2013 at 9:45 AM on Gervais Street in downtown Columbia.
Description: The 60th Annual Carolina Carillon Holiday Parade will once again proceed through the streets of downtown Columbia this year with the unique theme of “”Six Decades of Christmas Joy!” The parade is known as the state’s official holiday parade and features dozens of floats, marching bands, drill teams, and live performances.
Details: The parade will pass in front of the State House, and continue into the Vista to Park Street.
Clemson Christmas Parade
Time and Place: December 3rd in downtown Clemson.
Description: Clemson will host its Christmas parade December, 3rd.

Dickens of a Christmas
Time and Place: December 3rd, 2013 – 6pm to 9pm. Main Street – Downtown
Description: Spartanburg’s Main Street will have holiday decorations, carolers and performers dressed in authentic period costumes from the Victorian period.
Spartanburg Christmas Parade
Time and Place: December 10, 2013 at 6:30 PM in Downtown Spartanburg.
Description: An event for all ages, the Spartanburg Christmas Parade will include festively lighted floats, marching bands and more.

Greer Jaycees’ annual Christmas parade “A White Christmas”
Time and Place: December 8th, 2013 from 2:30 to 3:30 PM.
Description: The annual Greer Christmas Parade is sending all profits this year to Greer Relief and will be very cheerful as expected. The route for the parade begins at The Clock, 603 W. Poinsett St. and finishes at the J. Harley Bonds Center.
Details: This is an opportunity to volunteer for Greer Relief.
Christmas Tree Lighting
Time and Place: November 29, 2013 at Courthouse Square and Mainstreet.
Description: The annual Christmas Tree Lighting will be held on the square in front of the Anderson County Courthouse.
City Of Anderson Christmas Parade
Time and Place: December 8, 2013 from Greenville St. to River St. – CANCELED
Description: The City of Anderson’s traditional Christmas Parade will feature floats, bands, and a chance for onlookers to enjoy Santa’s sleigh.
Anderson County Christmas Parade – NEW
Anderson County will host a Christmas parade after the cancellation of the City of Anderson’s parade.
Time and Place: December 21 at 1 p.m. at the balloon launch field in the Anderson Sports and Entertainment Complex.
Gaffney Christmas Parade – CHANGED
Time and Place: December 15 at 2:30 p.m. in Downtown Gaffney.
Description: The Gaffney Christmas Parade will offer an old-fashioned Christmas parade complete with marching bands, floats, and Santa Claus.
Greenwood Christmas Parade
Time and Place: December 1st at 2:30 PM in Uptown Greenwood.
Description: Greenwood’s Christmas parade will include floats, marching bands, children’s groups, cheerleaders, local church and civic leaders.
Landrum Christmas Parade

Mauldin Christmas Parade
Time and Place: December 7, 2013 from 2 to 4 PM.
Description: Mauldin’s Christmas Parade starts at Mauldin High School and goes down East Butler Road and ends at the Mauldin Cultural Center.
Chesnee Christmas Parade
Time and Place: December 8, 2013 at 2 PM.
Keowee Marina Christmas Boat Parade
Time and Place: Friday, December 6 at 6 p.m. at 150 Keowee Marina Drive in Seneca. Lineup starts at 5:30 p.m.
Details: It costs $25 to enter your boat. Proceeds go to the Angel Tree Program.
Spartanburg Toys For Tots Toy Drive
Time and Place: Reserve at Park West Clubhouse at 100 Keats Drive starting from 1 – 3 p.m.
Details: Take your picture with Santa, meet firemen, enjoy a movie, mingle with K-9 unit, jump in the bounce house, ride the train, story reading.
Mount Olive Christmas Parade
Time and Place: Sunday, December 22 at 3 p.m.
Roper Mountain Holiday Lights/Dog Nights
Time and Place: Monday, December 9 and 16 at 402 Roper Mountain Road
Details: Dog owners are invited to bring their dogs to Roper Mountain Holiday Lights on Monday, December 9, and on Monday, December 16. On those nights, visitors to Holiday Lights may bring their dogs and walk through Winter Wonderland to enjoy the lights and all the excitement of the season.
Roper Mountain Holiday Lights is open every evening from 6:00 to 10:00PM through Friday, December 30. Santa will be in Winter Wonderland through December 24, and kids can drop off their letters to Santa at the North Pole Trading Post Mail Box. On Monday, December 9, visitors may bring their own cameras to take pictures with Santa. Professionally-taken photos will also be available that night for an additional fee.
Roper Mountain Holiday Lights is a not-for-profit organization co-managed by the Rotary Club of Greenville and the Roper Mountain Science Center Association. Admission per car, minivan, or SUV is $10 on Monday through Thursday nights, and $15 on Friday through Sunday nights. The fee for an activity van is $25, and $50 for a bus. Multi-pass tickets for cars, minivans, and SUVs may be purchased at the gate for $25 and are good for three visits. Proceeds from Holiday Lights are split between Rotary Charities for local distribution, and the Roper Mountain Science Center Association for educational projects and programs. Over the past 21 years, Holiday Lights has given back over $1.9 million to the community.
