A teenager was rescued by a good samaritan during a fiery wreck in Greenville County late Thursday afternoon.
The wreck happened just before 5:30 p.m. on Tigerville Road, near Belvue School Road. Corporal Bill Rhyne of the South Carolina Highway Patrol said that a 15-year-old was driving a truck south on Tigerville Road, when he ran off the right side of the road, over-corrected and ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree and power pole simultaneously.
The truck burst into flame with the teenager, who was wearing a seatbelt, inside. Emergency crews at the scene say an unknown passer-by managed to rescue the teen from the burning truck.
The teen, whose name was not available for release due to his age, was airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital where his condition was not immediately available. No charges have been filed, Rhyne stated.
