It’s that time of year where you’ll be exchanging gifts for the holidays, but not every gift you receive will you cherish forever.

You’re not alone, the National Retail Federation says 10% of people will return gifts this holiday season.

Consumerworld.com says if you’re going to return, don’t do it the day after Christmas.  Lines are shorter for returns a few days after Christmas.

Don’t wait too long though, stores usually have a 15 to 30 return day window after Christmas.

Electronics usually have to be returned within 15 days.

To ensure you get full credit for what you’re returning, make sure you have a receipt or gift receipt.

Bring a photo ID with you, many stores require an ID to return an item.
