It’s a day to pig out in South Carolina.
On Saturday, Historic Brattonsville is hosting its annual Hog Butchering Day. Historically-dressed interpreters will be on-hand throughout the daylong event to teach people about the traditional family affair of processing and preserving a whole hog.
Visitors can watch as interpreters at the living history museum render lard, make soap and cook pork products.
Pulled-pork sandwiches and sausage will be available.
