One of the most complicated parts for Toyota’s Tundra Truck is now being made right here in Seneca, South Carolina.

BorgWarner and Toyota started working together five years ago to develop a transfer case for the Tundra. The case enables the truck to shift from two-wheel-drive to four-wheel-drive while still driving. The part also enables with towing capacities.

“We’re very happy here, we love the support we get from the state and great workforce as well,” says BorgWarner CEO James Verrier.

BorgWarner hired 150 more employees for Toyota’s transfer case. The company said Friday, that this is only the beginning. They plan to continue to grow bringing more jobs to Oconee County.

Since opening in 1995 in Seneca, BorgWarner now hires 650 people. Plans were also announced Friday for a new locker room and cantina area for employees.
