South Carolina’s Department of Social Services shut down Nana’s Daycare located in Greenville County.
The facility was run by Sandra Slater.
We checked with DSS, they told us there were several reasons for shutting the daycare’s doors.
All of the violations were found within a 2 year period.
Slater was cited for 52 violations, including not labeling baby bottles, leaving prescription medications and toxic chemicals out in the open, having improper cribs, and hiring unqualified caregivers who had not been given proper background checks.
DSS tells us Slater violated the corrective action plans after being cited.
They also tell us she was repeatedly unable to provide the paperwork needed to be relicensed.
Slater was also found to be keeping 10 children in a daycare that was only licensed to care for 6 children at a time.
