Interstate 26 just west of Columbia was blocked in both directions by a series of wrecks for several hours.
South Carolina Highway Patrol Lance Cp. David Jones said Wednesday morning that over 10 vehicles were involved, including a tanker truck that overturned and caught fire.
The tanker truck was carrying 8,500 gallons of fuel that caught fire.
Highway patrol says multiple people were transported to the hospital, but there are no fatalities reported at this time.
All lanes have now been cleared and are open to traffic.
