The SC Attorney General’s Office reports that a Simpsonville man was arrested Monday for allegedly showing a minor pornography, among other charges.

Attorney General Alan Wilson stated Matthew Timothy Moon, 43 was with the victim in early June of this year when he showed them a pornographic video. Wilson says that Moon also reportedly told the minor he wanted to have sex with them.

The victim’s mother found out about the incident and called local law enforcement.

According to the report, Moon was officially charged with one count of Dissemination of Obscene Material to a Minor age 18 or younger and one count of Criminal Solicitation of a Minor, both of which are felony offenses punishable by up to 10 years.

Moon’s bond has been set at $15,000 and he must have no contact with the victim.

The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, Mauldin Police Department and members of the Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) were involved in Moon’s arrest. The case will continue to be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
