PORTLAND, Ore. – Former Wofford guard Karl Cochran has earned a spot on the Portland Trail Blazers’ 2015 NBA Summer League roster. The team announced its 16-man roster on Tuesday.

Cochran will wear No. 16 for Portland, which announced its roster the same day the team began practice for its 2015 Las Vegas Summer League schedule. The Trail Blazers will practice Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday before traveling for their first game on Saturday.

The Trail Blazers start their 2015 Summer League schedule against the Boston Celtics on Saturday, July 11 at 5 p.m., followed by a game versus the Mavericks on July 12 and the Spurs on July 14. Tournament play starts up after that, with Portland assured at least two more games before the end of the league on Monday, July 20.

A native of Marietta, Georgia, Cochran was named 2014-15 Southern Conference Player of the Year. He was the only player in the country to lead his team in all five major statistical categories, finishing his senior season averaging 14.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.0 blocks. He went on to be named an AP All-America honorable mention, as well as a finalist for the 2014-15 Lou Henson Award, recognizing the Mid-Major Player of the Year.

Cochran ended his Terrier career sixth on the all-time scoring list (1,894), which ranks second in the school’s Division I era. The recent Wofford graduate is the only Terrier in school history to amass 1,500 points, 500 rebounds, 250 assists and 200 steals in a career. His 226 steals are the most among Terriers from the Div. I era and rank third all-time. Cochran also holds the school records for 3-pointers made in a single season (98, 2014-15) and a career 3-pointers made (312).
