A person is dead after they ran a stop sign and was struck by an oncoming vehicle in Pickens County.
South Carolina Highway patrol says the incident happened shortly after 9 p.m. on SC Highway 11, Sunday evening.
The victim was traveling west and was struck by a vehicle traveling north after they ran a stop sign.
The victim was not wearing a seat belt or entrapped in the vehicle; they died on the scene, according to troopers.
The driver of the other vehicle was wearing their seat belt and was injured in the crash. Troopers say the driver was airlifted to Greenville Memorial with serious injuries.
