Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina will stock the kitchens of two of their partner agencies today.
As part of the “Surprise Inside” program, Miracle Hill and Mobile Meals will receive a loaded “prize patrol” truck filled with food made possible by a grant from Costco.
Mobile Meals of Spartanburg is a non-profit organization with over 150 volunteers that provide home delivered meals to 1500 recipients in the Spartanburg area.
Miracle Hill is the largest and most comprehensive provider of food and shelter to homeless children and adults in Upstate South Carolina. The organization supports on average 560 individuals every day through outreaches in Greenville, Pickens, Spartanburg and Cherokee counties.
In the 19-county region that the Second Harvest Food Bank serves, there are over 500,000 people living at or below the poverty level, which includes over 220,000 children and seniors.
