Crews Remove Bomb Found In Spartanburg Co. Driveway

The Explosive Device Unit was called in to remove a suspicious package at a home just west of Cowpens Sunday, which turned out to be an active bomb.

According to Master Deputy Mike Clevenger with the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, a resident of Bud Arthur Bridge Rd. called emergency services after finding a package in their driveway, which resulted in response from the Fire Department, EMS, Sheriff’s Office, and shortly after, the Explosive Device Unit.

The package was taken away from the house and detonated. Crews are now working to find out what exactly the bomb was made of.
