Rick Santorum Returns to SC for 2016 Campaign

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Republican presidential contender Rick Santorum returned to South Carolina this morning with a visit to Columbia.

We took your questions so you could share your thoughts on what’s important in the 2016 election. We asked Senator Santorum what a he would do on a national level about the Palmetto State ranking high for deaths due to domestic violence.

Senator Santorum said, “Domestic violence goes up dramatically when you have cohabitating couples who aren’t married, and one of the things that I’m focused on in this campaign is the importance of strengthening the nuclear family in America.”

If elected President of the United States, Santorum said he would try to re-knit families in America by strengthening the opportunity for marriage, especially for low income families.

He was in Columbia discussing energy policies. Before leaving the state tonight he will hold a town hall meeting in Clinton.

We are taking questions directly to presidential candidates throughout campaign 2016. To submit yours, email Voter@WSPA.com or post them on our Facebook page.
