A woman and a man are dead after an apparent murder-suicide in Greer Saturday.
According to Lt. Kevin Bobo with the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, Anthony Juiwan Gaston, 30 and Sara Latasha Wallace, 33 were involved in an altercation in a car, which quickly turned deadly.
The report states that it appears Wallace was driving the car and Gaston was in the passenger seat with three children and an adult female also in the vehicle.
Gaston reportedly stabbed Wallace multiple times while she was driving. When she stopped the car, the female passenger and three children got out and ran away. Both Wallace and Gaston stayed in the car until they ended up on Biblebrook Drive, where Gaston shot Wallace as she was exiting the vehicle. Gaston then turned the gun on himself.
The couple had a history of domestic issues, according to Lt. Bobo and he says that Gaston was out on bond for a 2nd degree domestic violence charge. That charge was issued July 7th of this year.
The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office says the autopsies on both Gaston and Wallace show that Gaston committed suicide and died of a self inflicted gunshot wound.
They say Wallace’s death was ruled a homicide and died from a gunshot wound and stab wounds.
The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office says this is the 13th homicide case it has worked this year.
