GREENVILLE – Greenville County Sheriff’s deputies are trying to identify a man who they say used someone’s debit card information to take $400 out of an ATM.
The account holder says he still had his debit card at the time of the crime and it wasn’t lost or misplaced. He noticed that money was missing from his account on July 23rd.
According to the sheriff deputies, the suspect stole another person’s money on the following day in a different county.
Deputies say the suspect is believed to be a part of a ring that is able to obtain debit card numbers and pins. The group then overwrites the card number onto a magnetic strip on blanks or gift cards.
The suspect is possibly traveling through Greenville and he has not been captured.
If you recognize him you’re asked to call Greenville County Crime Stoppers at 864-23-CRIME.
