SUMMERVILLE – A minor magnitude 2.1 earthquake struck in the Lowcountry late Sunday night.
The quake epicenter was about one mile east of Summerville according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake happened at 11:23 p.m. Sunday in Centerville, South Carolina.
That’s 84 miles southeast of Columbia.
An earthquake of that measurement is considered to be minor. It’s usually not felt, but can be recorded by seismograph.
