The Northwood Little League Team is back home in the Upstate after a trip to the Little League World Series.

A water cannon salute greeted the team as their plane landed at GSP International. Parents and fans also gathered inside to cheer for them after their return from Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Manager Kevin Tumblin says the history of it all is still sinking in.

“First team since 1950 to get up there, and then the first team from South Carolina to ever get a win. I mean, we’re thinking about it. We know what happened, but it’ll probably be years before we really appreciate it,” Tumblin explained.

He says the est part was spending time with this great group.

“All 14 of these guys are just great young men and that’s part of the reason we were able to accomplish this.”
