Final NFL Cuts Hit Close To Home

Former Clemson and Dorman WR/Returner Adam Humphries defied the odds and after going undrafted stuck with the Tampa Bay Bucs through their final round of roster cuts Saturday.

Reports from Tampa indicate he’ll primarily be used as a return man but could also play receiver.

Former Boiling Springs and USC quarterback Dylan Thompson lost his bid to stick as the 49ers third-string QB as he was released.

Others with area ties released Saturday include:

Deshawn Williams, DL (Clemson, Daniel) Bengals

Damere Byrd, WR, (USC) Panthers

Brenton Bersin, WR (Wofford) Panthers

Dalton Freeman, C (Clemson) Bills

Da’quan Bowers, DE (Clemson) Tampa Bay

Teams can still sign eight players to their practice squads and those release Saturday have a chance to reclaim roster spots.
