An Upstate police officer is recovering after an early morning car accident sent him to the hospital.
Two Easley Police officers were responding to a wreck on Olive Street near Glendale Lane when a vehicle crashed into the back of their patrol car. One of the officers was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
It’s not clear if the other officer or the driver of the car that hit their cruiser were injured. Officials also haven’t said if the driver will face charges.
South Carolina law requires drivers to move over a lane when emergency vehicles with flashing lights are parked on the side of the road. Breaking the state’s “Move Over Law” can result in fines of up to $500.
The SC Highway Patrol is now investigating the incident.
