Man Steals $2K in Meat From Employer, Police Say

GEORGETOWN, SC (WBTW) – A Georgetown man has been arrested after he stole meat from his employer, according to police.

The Georgetown Police Department reports Jerell Knox, 25, of Georgetown, was arrested after managers of his workplace, Modern Bar and Grill, noticed the lock to the establishment had been cut and approximately $2,000 worth of meat had been stolen Sunday evening.

Police looked through surveillance footage from the bar, located at 916 Front St., and spoke with witnesses and learned that Knox was the person who stole the meat during the workday, according to officials with the Georgetown Police Department. Knox has subsequently been charged with grand larceny and is awaiting trial.
