LAURENS COUNTY, S.C. – One woman is behind bars and a man is on the loose in Laurens County after a car chase ended in a crash. This happened around midnight Tuesday.

Lt. Judy Stiles with the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office says two people in a car were being pulled over by a deputy for a traffic stop. Instead of pulling over, Lt. Stiles says the man in the car jumped out and ran and the woman in the car took off. That’s when the chase began.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol responded, as well because the chase involved a wreck.
