GREER – A woman accused of holding her ex-boyfriend hostage and shooting him has turned her self in according to Spartanburg deputies.
Freda Lynn Lambert-Smith, 44, is charged with attempted murder and kidnapping.
The shooting happened early Monday morning at a home on Kaleigh Drive in Greer.
The incident report says the ex-boyfriend was asked over to Lambert-Smith’s home late Sunday night.
The man says when he arrived at the home, his former girlfriend “began going crazy” and pulled a gun on him.
He says Lambert-Smith held him at gunpoint for several hours until he rushed at her around 2:00 a.m. The report says he was shot in the chest.
The two struggled and he was able to grab the gun.
He then ran from the house and had a neighbor call 911.
That’s when investigators say Lambert-Smith drove off.
The victim was flown to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. He was later released.
The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office arrest warrants also include a charge of possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime against Lambert-Smith in addition to attempted murder and kidnapping.
Lambert-Smith has a surety bond of $11,000. She is still currently being held at the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
