Happy Birthday to Charleston’s Own Funny Man, Bill Murray

Happy 65th Birthday to The Riverdogs’ Director of Fun, Actor, epic photo-bomber, and Charleston’s own, Bill Murray.

Murray is celebrating his birthday with an Emmy after winning outstanding supporting actor in a limited series or a movie for his role in HBO’s Olive Kitteridge.

Bill Murray is a Charleston icon and he can be spotted hanging out at the Joe, where he is co-owner of the Charleston Riverdogs baseball team.

You can also find him hanging out downtown Charleston at some of his favorite watering holes.

Social media always gets a kick out of a classic Murray sighting in the Lowcountry.

Murray brought his pals Anthony Bourdain and Danny McBride to the Joe back in April and the three were trending online for their appearance. MORE

Bill even made headlines across the nation when he decided to photobomb a couple taking their engagement pictures downtown Charleston.

When he saw the couple posing and creating romantic memories, he decided to try and make them laugh by standing behind the photographer and tapping and shaking his belly at them.

The photographer asked Bill if he would like to join in on the picture and of course he did.

Bill even gave advice to a group of guys on a Bachelor Party at Oak Steakhouse in Charleston and the video instantly went viral.

Bill Murray’s job now is to pop up in random spots and make your day. He’s gotten really good at it.

So today, we wish you a Happy Birthday Bill, and we hope someone gets to pop up and make your day just like you always make ours. Entertaining and Spontaneous.
