The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after an Upstate woman was assaulted and robbed at gunpoint.
The attack happened, at her own home, in Travelers Rest earlier this month.
The woman captured the brutal assault on her home surveillance system.
The grandmother of seven, Kim Posey, says the morning of the attack started like many others.
“I was just sitting in my living room chair,” Posey said.
Posey said she was looking over monthly bills when she heard a gentle knock at the front door.
Adding, “I opened it because i thought it was Meals on Wheels. It was time for them.”
Immediately, she realized that she didn’t recognize the man on her porch. She said the stranger tried to make friendly conversation and claimed he was there to check on her.
“I started to close the door and he puts his knee in and blocks it,” said Posey.
What happened after that move, left her bruised and beaten.
According to Posey, the man said, “take me to your pocketbook.”
From there, the attack only grew more violent. He held the gun to her neck as she moved room to room.
“He banged me in the head with a gun,” said Posey. Within the video, you can see the victim struck in the head before the man takes off.
“I said, ‘I got kids, grandkids I love. Please don’t shoot me!’ I said, ‘I’ll give you whatever you want. Just get it. There it is. Take it.'”
The attacker made off with her cash, social security, medical, and credit cards. Before leaving, she says he also robbed her of all her pain medication.
Posey says the medication was prescribed to her after a recent knee surgery.
“I’m just putting it in God’s hands and praying he don’t hurt nobody else,” she said.
Thursday, September 24th, marks two weeks since the attack.
Investigators with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office say despite the surveillance video, they still don’t have any leads or new information regarding the man you see if the video.
If you have any information, you’re asked to call Crime Stoppers at 23-CRIME.
