5th Annual Mauldin BBQ Cook-Off held September 25 & 26 at the Mauldin Cultural Center. Featuring over 20 BBQ Teams from around the state, live music, and kids activities, this event is a great way to explore the culinary uniqueness of our region and have a great time with the family.
Everything kicks off Friday night from 6-9pm with an “Anything Butt” Competition where each team serves up their best non-BBQ dish – everything from fried catfish, to bacon-wrapped vegetables, to desserts have been served in years past. Saturday is the main event from 11am-3pm, the BBQ Cook-Off where teams compete for SC BBQ Association points and awards, and provide their unique BBQ to attendees who can purchase a Tasting Pass for just $10 and sample every team.
Live music is provided on Friday by national folk/rock sensation The Lone Bellow, who was recently nominated for Best Duo/Group at this year’s Americana Honors & Awards. Opening for The Lone Bellow is Greenville-native Rachel Troublefield Nelson. On Saturday, Jack Roper & the Weatherman Band perform beach music and classic oldies. All concerts are free to the public.
