A man was rescued Thursday morning after he drove his truck into a hole caused by the road washing away in Spartanburg County.
The incident happened at the intersection of Hayne and Ethel Roads in Spartanburg.
Emergency crews say the man was swept away in his vehicle, but he managed to get out and cling to a tree before he was saved.
The man is now in the hospital, Doug Bryson with Emergency Management says. We do not know his condition at this time.
A culvert pipe was washed out and the road in that section is gone, according to emergency crews.
