CLEMSON – Clemson Athletic Department officials say there will be no problem playing Saturday’s football game with heavy rain in the forecast, but parking may be an issue.

The Tigers game against Notre Dame is one of the most anticipated at Death Valley in years. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. Saturday and ESPN will televise it’s College Gameday show from Bowman Field from 9:00 a.m. – noon.

Heavy rain is in the forecast for Friday through Sunday night and officials have concerns about the number of cars that will need to park on grass lots. Officials are asking fans to car pool or consolidate into cars assigned to paved parking to meet off campus.

The hope is to limit the number of fans parking in grass lots that will be saturated from rain.

The parking lot situation will be updated Friday afternoon.

The playing surface is in good condition according to the school. Facilities has confirmed power, plumbing and operations are still good to go at Memorial Stadium.

There have been reported power outages on campus, but none have effected Memorial Stadium. ESPN and ABC are running 100 percent on generator power.
