Suspect Charged, Accused Of Setting Man On Fire

A man is the hospital with after being doused with gasoline and set on fire during an altercation Saturday night, according to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a call from a home on Stepp Acres in the Edneyville Community around 4:45pm.

Investigators say Joesph Charles Wolff, III of Asheville, was taken into custody and charged with Assault with a deadly weapon, with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury in the case. Wolff is being held in the Henderson County Detention Center under an $80,000.00 secured bond.

The victim’s name and condition have not been released. We’ll have updates as soon as they become available.
