(Greenville, SC)- As the Christmas season quickly approaches, The Salvation Army is preparing to help those in need. Last year, The Salvation Army provided Christmas assistance to over 4,000 local children, and this year that number is expected to increase.
An important part of helping as many as possible is making sure people have the information they need to receive assistance. The Christmas Assistance Application information for Greenville and nearby counties is listed below.
In Greenville County applications will be taken at the TD Center located at 1 Exposition Drive. Hours are:
Saturday, October 10th from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Monday, October 12th – Thursday, October 15th from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and 1:00-4:00 p.m.
Extended hours will be offered until 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14th.

In Oconee County applications will be taken at The Salvation Army located at 311 S. John St., Walhalla
Monday, October 5th -Thursday, October 8th from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and 1:00-4:00 p.m.

In Pickens County applications will be taken at The Salvation Army Social Services Office located at 1000 S. Pendleton St., Easley
Monday, October 19th – Wednesday, October 21st from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and 1:00-4:00 p.m.
Thursday, October 22nd and Friday, October 23rd from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and 1:00-7:00 p.m.

Assistance for Christmas toys is provided for children ages 12 and younger. Applicants are required to bring:
-current picture I.D. for person applying
-current DSS Household Summary print out or proof of government assistance. If an individual has this, no other documentation is required.
-if government assistance is not received, the following documentation is required.
• Current picture I.D. for person applying
• Birth certificates for all children ages 12 and younger
• Income verification within the last 30 days for all members of the household where you reside
• Proof of expenses within the last 30 days for the household where you reside
