Deputies say they stopped a rolling abortion clinic complete with medical tools covered in blood and tissue on a local interstate earlier this week.
Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright described their suspect Friday as “an illegal baby killer” who performed “in-home abortions” across South Carolina without a medical license.
Deputies say they found the clinic after stopping a husband a wife during the annual, week-long law enforcement crackdown dubbed Rolling Thunder along sections interstates 85 and 26.
Wright, announcing the stop early Friday during a press conference about the crackdown, did not name the couple.
He did note that the woman was charged with possession with attempt to distribute marijuana.
He says charges are pending against the husband.
Patients “run the risk of dying from infection and not having the real medical help they need,” Wright said.
