A pedestrian was killed in an I-85 wreck Thursday night in Cherokee County.
Dennis Fowler with the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office says the victim was Phillip Chad Crenshaw, 32, of Easley.
The coroner’s office says Crenshaw was a passenger in a car that ran out of gas on the south bound side of the interstate near mile marker 87. He caught a ride to the gas station to get gas.
SC Highway Patrol says Crenshaw was walking west across the interstate when a 2015 Jeep Wrangler hit him. Crenshaw died at the scene.
Crenshaw became Cherokee County’s 16th traffic related death of 2015.
