Spartanburg Looks To Change Process For Dangerous Animals

So far in 2015 Spartanburg Animal Services has seized 7 dangerous dogs. That is double or triple the normal amount.

Right now if your dog is seized in Spartanburg, Animal Services is in charge of deeming whether the dog is too dangerous to be returned or whether the owner can meet certain codes to get their dog back.

A proposed ordinance change would make it the court’s job to decide that.

The ordinance has passed through council once. The second and final reading will be on Oct 26th.
