Driver Hits Pole, Pole Falls On Anderson Officer’s Cruiser After Chase

An Anderson police chase ended in a crash, Tuesday night.

Police say it happened near the highway 28 bypass and West Market Street around 11:30 pm.

Anderson Police say a police officer believed the car matched the description of one that was reported stolen and attempted to stop the driver.

We’re told the driver crashed his car into a telephone pole and the pole land on the officer’s cruiser.

No one was hurt and the driver was taken into custody.

The vehicle was not stolen but the driver had a suspended license and a bench warrant from another location.

The driver was charged with Failure to Stop for Blue Lights and Driving Under Suspension.
