The Oconee Co. School board will vote Monday on whether to close Tamassee-Salem Middle/High School.

Our coverage partners at the Independent Mail report that the combined middle and high school only has 251 students and it’s too expensive to operate.  It could save the district $750,000 a year to close the school.

Viewers told us there is a 3pm protest planned Monday at the school board building on Pine Street in Walhalla.
