Oconee Co. School Board Votes To Close Tamassee-Salem School

The Oconee County School Board voted unanimously to close the Tamassee-Salem Middle/High School, Monday night.

The 5-0 vote means the school is scheduled to close at the end of the 2015-2016 school year.

Closing the school will save approximately $750,000 each year, according to the district.

251 students are currently enrolled at the school.
