GREENVILLE, S.C. — Furman director of athletics Mike Buddie announced today the addition of Kennesaw State to the Paladins’ 2016 and 2019 football schedules.
The Paladins will entertain the Owls on Oct. 1, 2016, and will play at Kennesaw State on Oct. 5, 2019. Next year’s contest will mark the football series inaugural between the two schools. Furman, which began play 1889, is now in its 110th season of football. The 2015 campaign is the first for Kennesaw State, a football member of the Big South Conference.
The addition of Kennesaw State gives Furman five home games for 2016, filling the void created when the Paladins dropped a two-game series against Jacksonville State, originally scheduled for 2015 and ‘16, for the opportunity to play UCF this season.
