GREENEVILLE, TN (WJHL) – Folks with a local humane society are calling it one of the worst cases of animal cruelty they’ve ever come across. A cat was shot with a hunting arrow through the chest and left to die.
The managers of the Greeneville/Greene County Humane Society were called out to rescue the cat Thursday.
Wendy Palmer said the cat was found on Milligan Drive in Greeneville. She said when they got there, the cat was scared and crying out.MIRACLE MILLIGAN 2
“He wouldn’t come to us because he was in a lot of pain, but we scooped him up with a net, and we put him in the truck, and took him immediately to Duckworth Animal Hospital,” Palmer told News Channel 11.
They named him Miracle Milligan because the arrow didn’t hit any major arteries, but his prognosis is still grim.
Palmer thinks Miracle was deliberately shot.
The Greeneville Police Department is investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call 423.639.7111.
