Greenville Deputy Injured Searching For Armed Robbery Suspect

Deputies with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office say they’re investigating an armed robbery that happened Sunday night.

Officials say a man entered the Ingles grocery store on Poinsett Highway with a knife.

He’s described as a black male, around 6 feet tall and 180 lbs.

Deputies say they’re still searching for the suspect.  He was last seen wearing a black and gray hoodie, gray pants, and a red shirt.

K-9s are being used to track the suspect.  We’re told one of the K-9 handlers has been injured while searching a nearby, wooded area.

Deputies say the handler fell down an incline.  He is receiving medical attention, but the severity of his injuries is not known at this time.

If you have any information, you’re asked to call the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.
