NEW YORK – Investigators are trying to determine what caused a car to plow into a group of trick-or-treaters in New York City, killing three people, including a 10-year-old girl and her grandfather.
Four other people including the driver were injured Saturday evening when the Dodge Charger driven by a 52-year-old man jumped the curb and hit the group on a sidewalk in the Bronx.
Witnesses described a scene of carnage, and not knowing whether it was real or a series of gruesome Halloween props.
Police believe the driver hit another car before it lost control and jumped the curb in the Morris Park neighborhood. No charges have been filed.
