GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – A Greenville man is charged in the death of his two-month-old child.
Charles Edward Robinson, Jr., 25, was arrested late Thursday night and charged with murder.
Deputies said they responded to a call where a baby was found unresponsive on Floyd Harris Road at approximately 11 a.m. Tuesday. Detectives immediately began an investigation once they were alerted by officers on scene.
The baby’s mother called 911 when she got home and found the baby was not breathing. She says the baby was left in the father’s care for a short time that morning.
Robinson met with detectives Thursday night and after investigation, in conjunction with the medical examiners office, deputies charged Robinson.
He’s at the Pitt County Detention Center without bond.
