Spartanburg Emergency Management is holding its annual Pre-Winter Weather Seminar at Spartanburg Community College. It’s from 10am-noon Thursday in the Tracey Gaines Auditorium.
24/7 Meteorologist Dan Bickford will be there along with groups like the Red Cross and state emergency officials. They’re talking about winter preps and what could happen this season.
Last year, our area saw a few inches of snow in February. Overall, it was pretty average winter with no major problems. According to NOAA, the Upstate sees average snowfall of just over an inch. Ice causes the biggest issues on roads and power outages.
