CHARLOTTE- Expect to see more police officers and other heightened security at Bank of America Stadium for Sunday’s Carolina Panthers game against the Washington Redskins.

The Panthers announced Thursday the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department will have a larger presence with more officers at the gates and on bike patrol.

Visitors will also see additional observation towers in the area.

“We will have heightened security on game day, and encourage fans to arrive early and leave bags at home if at all possible,” said Lance Emory, Panthers Executive Director – Risk Management in a written news release.

Kickoff is at 1:00 p.m. Sunday.

Fans who decided to bring a bag to the game are advised to limit the items you carry. If stadium security is unable to see all items in the clear bags, or if the clear bag is larger than 12″x 12″x 6″, fans will not be permitted to enter the Bag Check or Express lines.
