By Wednesday afternoon, tenants at the Savannah Suites motel in Greenville will have moved out due to the building not being up to code standards.

Residents claim they had a 24-hour notice from property management.

According to Greenville County officials, the building has an out-of-service elevator, leaks in the roof, defective fire alarm systems and unsanitary conditions.

The situation is leaving some tenants in tears, and some with nowhere to call home for the holidays.

“They gave us this note right there that they were here to inform us that we have 24 hours to get out,” says Beth Craft, a resident at Savannah Suites.
