Greenville Woman Arrested After Chase On I-26 in Stolen Truck

A woman from Greenville is in custody, accused of leading several law enforcement agencies on a chase that ended on I-26 in Buncombe County.

According to troopers with the NC Highway Patrol, the incident started around 7:40am Monday when Buncombe County deputies got behind a stolen truck.  There was a chase and the driver got away.  Asheville Police located the car at a housing complex, and the driver was able to get away a second time.  Eventually, Buncombe County deputies found the driver again and stop sticks were used to stop the vehicle.

Highway Patrol got involved and did a pit maneuver on I-26 at mile marker 37 around Biltmore Park.  Troopers were able to arrest the driver.

Troopers say at some point she hit a car, trying to get away.

Zenevia Lee, 23 from Greenville, will face charges in Buncombe County.  Troopers say the truck was registered to an address in Arden.

No one was hurt and there was minimal damage to the vehicles.
