Jacob Mackenzie Elliot was arrested on two charges connected to the sexual solicitation of a minor. Investigator say Elliot contacted the victim online and then traveled to Newberry County to meet the victim.
Elliot was taken into custody on Friday December 18. He is charged with one count of Criminal Solicitation of a Minor and one count of Attempted Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor, second degree. Both charges are felonies that could put him behind bars for up to 30 years.
The South Carolina Attorney General’s office made the arrest, and the Newberry County Sheriff’s office helped. The Newberry County sheriff’s office is the newest member of the state’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
