GREENWOOD COUNTY, SC– Greenwood County Emergency Services say most of the roads are open after being temporarily closed due to flooding Tuesday morning. Crews are double checking other roads for any washouts or damage.
There were voluntary evacuations along Haltiwanger Road and in Wilson Creek Trailer Park. Officials say the Fox Hollow and Wilson Creek areas had the worst flooding.
Sandbags are being brought into the area to help protect property.
The Red Cross opened a shelter in Greenwood at the Grace Community Church at 1611 Woodlawn Road, but that shelter has now closed.
Police say flooding in Clinton is subsiding and there are no evacuations. Lydia Mill is an area that typically floods and streets here are closed; Palmetto Street, Peachtree Street, and Locust Street.
An Areal Flood Warning has also been issued for Elbert County in Georgia until 1:45 p.m. Check the latest weather warnings here.
