It started out as– what investigators called– a suspicious fire that claimed the life of a Laurens County woman. Now, over a year later, that case still remains unsolved today and family members are still waiting for answers.
18 months ago, 79-year-old Willie Booker died from smoke inhalation after her trailer caught fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation and family members are desperate for answers.
Booker’s daughter Sarah Hudgens says investigators haven’t reached out to her for months.
“He told me he hadn’t had an update on anything, did I know anything. And I told him that I had given him everything that I knew. And he hasn’t responded since.”
7 News reached out to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division for an update, but they say it would be inappropriate to discuss the details because it’s still an open case.
