Several area counties and cities have announced directions on how to recycle your Christmas trees. Remember to remove all ornaments, lights, and tinsel from your tree before recycling. Artificial trees are not accepted as part of this recycling.
Greenville city residents can place trees at the curb to be picked up on regular pick-up days to be taken away.
Spartanburg city residents can place trees at the curb to be picked up on regular pick-up days to be taken away.
Anderson County will accept Christmas Trees, wrapping paper, and other holiday items at any of the county’s 19 convenience centers. Trees will be recycled as wildlife habitats.
Asheville will be collecting Christmas trees on normal brush collection days and trees should be placed at the curb for collection. Residents can also drop Christmas trees at the Buncombe County Landfill (81 Panther Branch Road).
Oconee County will accept Christmas trees at any of its 11 convenience centers or the Solid Waste Complex on Wells Highway. Residents may also drop off trees in Seneca across from Seneca Depot, in Walhalla at the Agricultural Building, and in Westminster at the Parking Lot at Westminster.
