Rev. Jesse Jackson Discusses King Legacy Weekend In Greenville

Reverend Jesse Jackson and the Greenville Rainbow Push Coalition held a news conference to announce events during King Legacy Weekend to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

This year, plans include seminars, job fairs, and a blood drive.

Rev. Jackson also talked about the importance of holding a voter registration drive, especially for young people.

“They’re discouraging, they think voting does not matter, and it does matter,” said Jackson, “Only those that vote can serve on juries, secondly age 18 voter registration should be automatic.”

King Legacy Weekend will be held January 15th through the 18th in Greenville.
